Summer Anime Rave: Moe Madness (2025/07/19)

 Overview

Two of my live sets played at the first IRL party hosted by inba☆style on July 19th 2025 at Voodoo Club (Warsaw, Poland). Very memorable experience, I’m so thankful to each and every person who made their appearance this night!

During both performances, my unrivaled personal VJ yuuczan accompanied me on the stage enriching the experience with her tastefully crafted visuals.

 Set #1 (light)

I played my first “lighter” set at around 1AM. Betting on a certain crowd energy level anticipated in the third hour of the event, I decided to rely on relatively safe and steady 170~190 BPM range. It was my minor goal to divide the set into distinct sections, each dedicated to a different kind of media having an influence on j-core music.

The set opens with rather old-school remixes and arranges of anime tunes popular in late 00’s and 2010s. Then it shifts into territories of eroge and visual novels. Then comes a small nerdcore section, mostly revolving around Japanese television and dramas. As per request received before the event, I also played several Touhou remixes and a single BMS track. The closure consists of my favorite makina tracks released on Bastard Pop Terrorists and J-Core Masterz series.

 Set #2 (hard)

Around 3:30 AM I played one more set, this one starting at 190 and ending at 210 BPM. It begins with a few Sharpnel tracks I played to fulfil a certain request I received from the audience, and then it transitions into mostly j-tek and jaycore-infused frenchcore.

With each DJ playing on a different gear, no wonder we were behind the schedule. I had to cut down my set by good 10 minutes. Regardless of this, I’m still very proud of the end result. It was the first time I tried mixing hardtek, and it felt surprisingly natural to me!
